INGREDIENTS
1 cup melted ghee (Clarified butter)¾ cup castor sugar1 teaspoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon bicarb1tspful Elachi (cardomom) powder3/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder1/4 teaspoon salt2tblsp semolina2tblsp Chana (gram) flour+- 2&½ cups flourWhole almonds for decor
METHOD
Mix together the first 9 ingredients well. Add in flour a little at a time until you have a soft biscuit like dough. Take a tblspful of dough and roll into a ball. Flatten slightly and place on greased baking tray. Bake in a preheated 200C oven for 8 minutes. Then lower heat to 160 and. Continue baking for another 10-12 minutes. Leave on tray too cool completely before packing into a contianer.
INFO & TIPS
Naan katai should be a light golden brown around edges when done.
