INGREDIENTS
1 sponge cake cut into medium sized pieces
Sugar syrup
Strawberry jam
Chopped strawberries
Whipped cream
Grated milk chocolate
METHOD
In a bowl or dish,arrange the sponge pieces to cover the bottom of your dish.
Spoon the sugar syrup over the cake.
Next add an even layer of strawberry jam,then the whipped cream. Use the back of a spoon to make it even.
Garnish with chopped strawberries and chocolate.
Leave to chill in the fridge before serving.
INFO & TIPS
I made a simple sugar syrup by boiling 2 parts sugar to water. I did this in the microwave to save time. You can also use the stove. Ensure that you stir the syrup several times during cooking.
You can use store bought cake. I used a simple vanilla cake. Madeira cake would also work.
