INGREDIENTS
½ cup + 2 tablespoon softened ghee (Clarified butter)
¾ cup sugar.
½ teaspoon Elachi (cardomom) powder
½ teaspoon nutmeg.
1 heaped tablespoon semolina.
2 cups cake flour.
¼ teaspoon baking powder.
1 teaspoon bicarb.
To decorate Almond slivers. Silver decoration balls
METHOD
Preheat oven to 180\\\' c.
Pour ghee (Clarified butter) into a mixing bowl add the sugar mix with a
whisk until thoroughly creamed.
Add the Elachi (cardomom) , nutmeg and semolina and mix well
sift flour , baking powder and bicarb.
Add ⅓ of the dry mixture to the sugar
and ghee (Clarified butter) mixture and stir until completely
absorbed.
Repeat with another ⅓ and carry on till
all the dry ingredient is used then knead with your
hands into a creamy dough.
Then take small amounts of dough and roll between
your palms into slightly fat balls .
Place the balls in an ungreased baking tray and
decorate with almonds pressing them down or the
silver balls then place tray in oven and bake for 15-20
minutes.
until they are golden and firm with small cracks on top.
Remove the tray and allow to cool lift with a spatula .
