Savoury Waffles
INGREDIENTS
makes about 8 waffles
500 ml flour
15 ml baking powder
4 ml salt
1 teaspoon peri peri masala
dash pepper
2 extra large eggs
90 g butter melted
300 ml milk
topping:
cooked cubed saucy chicken or steak
crumbled feta cheese
Grated mozarella cheese
red chutney
cubed green pepper
METHOD
sift dry ingredients together. add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth.
rest batter for 30 minutues( mixture should be thick).
heat waffle iron and spray or brush plates to grease. pour in batter to cover 2/3 of the iron. close and wipe excess away.
cook for 3-4 minutues until light brown
spread red chutney over. top with meat, feta, mozarella, peppers.
place under grill till cheese is melted & serve immediately with chutney of choice.
