INGREDIENTS
1 cup red chili flakes2-3 cups neutral oil2 tablespoon sesame seeds4 cloves minced garlic2 tablespoon minced ginger2 tablespoon sugar1.5 tablespoon salt + more to taste1 cinnamon stick
METHOD
In a heatproof bowl or jar, add the red chili flakes, sesame seeds, garlic, ginger, sugar, salt and cinnamon stick
In a small pot, heat the neutral oil over low-medium heat until it reaches about 225-250 degrees F. You'll know it's ready when you drop a piece of garlic or ginger in and it sizzles right away.
Carefully pour the hot oil over the ingredients in the heatproof bowl/jar and allow to sizzle for a few minutes.
Allow to cool slightly before enjoying
INFO & TIPS
You can add it to pasta, pizza, eggs, sandwiches, as a marinade to Halloumi and even popcorn for a spicy twist.
It's an amazing and low calorie condiment to have around and it's supper easy to make.
