For these cake toasts all u need is your tried & tested vanilla cake recipe or madeira cake.
Add 3 teaspoon Aniseed to your mixture & bake. Put batter in a rectangular Pyrex dish & bake until cake is done.
Remove cake from oven & cool completely. (dont remove from pyrex) .Once cooled cut cake in half lengthwise. Then cut one finger thickness. Remove slices from Pyrex & lay on baking pan. Toast in oven on +- 140 or 150 turning in between allowing to dry. These taste exactly like the Ouma Rusks. Really delish with a lekker cupa coffee or tea. enjoy.
