Yes u need ghee, if salt in ghee is the prblm, den use saltless butter, if u dont have ghee, use 1 tablespoon rama, hope this helps

Shukran for this recipe, posting arabic dough recipe for those that need it.
10 minute Arabic Dough
2 cups warm water
4 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp yeast
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 Tbsp milk powder- secret ingredient that makes 'em so soft
Mix together and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
1/2 cup oil
3 cups flour+ 1 tsp baking powder (optional)
Mix well and knead until combined then use as desired.
