2 tablespoons whole mustard seeds ¼ cup oil1 large sliced onion1 tablespoon red chilli garlic pasteSalt to taste2 teaspoon coarse red chillies2 tablespoon dry coriander2 tablespoons dry cumin2 medium tomatoes liquidised1 small red cabbage shredded 6 baby beets2 potatoes 8 baby carrots1 punnet whole peas
Peel the potatoes and baby carrots and steam in the microwave untill softSteam the baby beets in the microwave untill soft.Leave to cool and remove the skin Heat oil in a pot add the mustard seeds When the mustard seeds starts to pop.Add in the sliced onions.Braise the onions untill light brown( l used fried onions)Add in the red chillie garlic paste,cumin,coriander, salt coarse red chillie.Add a little water and braise the spices.Add in the liquidised tomatoes.Cook for 5minutesAdd in the shredded red cabbage and whole peas.Cook for 10 minutes on low heat.Check if the peas are cooked.Add in the carrots,potatoes and baby beets.Cook to reduce the water but don’t dry it out.Serve with rice of fresh hot roti
