CREDITS
This is literally the easiest, quickest, cost effective butterchicken recipe you will ever find !
INGREDIENTS
2 kg chicken fillet 1 x onion1 teaspoon Dhana Jeeru (Cumin)½ teaspoon Tumeric 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 x box Shans butterchicken spice 1 cup double cream plain yoghurt½ litre fresh cream4 tablespoon butter/ ghee (Clarified butter)¼ cup oil Salt to tastedhania (coriander) for decoration
METHOD
1. Marinate your chicken in the Shans spice along with the lemon juice and yoghurt - leave to set
2. In a pot, braise onions in oil, add butter and Dhana Jeeru (Cumin)- cook until golden
3. Once the onions are done, add in your marinated chicken. Braise the chicken out (add a little bit of water so that it doesn’t catch) then cook on medium heat until the fillets are done
4. Add in the fresh cream and Tumeric. Let it cook on low until the sauce thickens to your liking
5. If salt is needed add it in last as the Shans spice has salt already
6. Serve and top with dhania (coriander)
7. Enjoy :)
INFO & TIPS
First taste before adding salt because the Shans spice is quite salty on its own. Some people add in tomato, I haven’t, if you’d like to add it in, do so after your chicken is cooked :)
I also like adding an extra blob of butter once the fresh cream is added
