250g baking butter ½ cup maziena ¼ cup custard powder (optional)½ cup icing sugar 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon vanilla essence DecorationsJam/ icing sugar / castor sugar
1. Soften the butter in the microwave until beatable - do not melt till liquid 2. In a bowl, beat the soft butter along with the vanilla essence and icing sugar 3. Once the above are well beaten and fluffy, add in the custard powder and mix well. 4. Lastly sift in the flour and bake on 180 Cup for 12-15 minutes . 5. Decorate with jam, chocolate or castor sugar 6. Enjoy :)

Usually after about 10-12 minutes I take mine out because I don’t like them to brown.
You can use this recipe as a base and add in variations like coffee , nuts etc
