500ml cake flour
15ml baking powder
1 large egg
pinch of salt
125ml - 150ml milk
grated rind of 1 orange
Sift dry ingredients together. Add the rind. Rub in
butter. Beat egg & milk together & add to
crumbly mixture. Mix to a soft dough. Cut into
rounds. Brush tops of scones with beaten egg.
Sprinkle a few grains of sugar over the tops
(optional). Bake @ 200*C for 12-15 minutes.
