INGREDIENTS
1 can middle-cut tinned fish (cleaned)1 potato cubed and par-cooked1 onion slicedsmall piece cinnmon stick and few cloves,small piece star anisea few curry leaves1 teaspoon mustard seeds1 teaspoon cumin seeds1 small tomato grated1 green chilli,garlic clove and small piece ginger,and 1 teaspoon soomph seeds (chopped and pounded)
2 teaspoon chilli powder1 teaspoon tumeric powder1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon black pepper2 teaspoon garum masala2 teaspoon dhania (coriander) jeeru (cumin) powder1 teaspoon biryani powder1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
METHOD
In a pot heat sunflower oil. Then add the Jeeru (Cumin) and mustard seeds,allow to saute for a few seconds. Next add the cinnamon stick,cloves and star anise,followed by the sliced onion and curry leaves.
Stir and cook until onions are light brown. Lower heat,then add the pounded chilli and garlic mix. Cook for a further minute. Next add in the tomato,followed by all the dry-spices. Mix well. Then add the fish and cooked potatoes. Add a little water,adjust seasonings and allow to simmer before serving. Enjoy!
INFO & TIPS
Replace the fresh chilli and garlic and ginger with green chilli paste and ginger and garlic paste
