INGREDIENTS
2 eggs1 cup maas¼ cup butter, melted½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda½ teaspoon fine salt½ teaspoon nutmeg1 cup white sugarApprox. 4 cups flour4 teaspoon baking powder
Syrup:2 ½ cups water2 cups sugar
METHOD
Syrup:Add water & sugar into a pot. Boil until a syrup is formed & keep aside.
Doughnut:Beat eggs in a large bowl until frothy. Add sugar, butter & maas & beat well. Sift all the dry ingredients into the batter. Mix well to form soft dough. Roll out dough onto a floured board & cut with a doughnut cutter. Fry in deep, hot oil until well risen & colour turns to a lovely rose brown. Remove, dip into syrup & keep aside. (You can also roll the doughnut in coconut after adding into the syrup.) Taste is divine !!!
