2 cups oil dhal
2 ¼ cups sugar
3 tablespoon ghee (Clarified butter)
1 to 1 ½ teaspoon crushed Elachi (cardomom)
Few strands saffron
Roti dough :
4 ½ cups flour
3 tablespoon oil
4 tablespoon ghee (Clarified butter)
Hot water to form a soft dough
soak dhal for 1 hour in warm warm or overnight.
Add dhal to the pressure cooker with water enough to to soften the dhal completely about 4 whistles or more .
In a pot add the softhen dhal allow access water to dry out add the sugar and ghee (Clarified butter) stir continuously on low heat until all the sugar has dissolved and the water has run out , dhal should be dry ,madd the Elachi (cardomom) and saffron and keep stirring .
Remove from heat and allow to cool .
Make the roti dough . Add dhal in the middle close up with roti dough , roll and fry
