8 slices of white bread (you can decide, crusts on or off)
1 liter of milk
¾ - 1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
5 tspns of custard powder
2 stick cinnamon
Roughly break up the bread into a bowl and pour the milk over the bread and allow to soak.
Whilst soaking, beat the eggs, sugar & vanilla essence. Add the custard powder and beat until mixed thoroughly. Once mixed thoroughly, add to soaked bread and mix until combined. Add cardamom & stick cinnamon.
Pour into a greased oven dish and add blobs of butter to the top then sprinkle with fine cinnamon.
Bake @ 180°C for 35 minutes or until set. Enjoy.
