INGREDIENTS

For the loaves :
250g butter
1 ¼ cups castor sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 ½ teaspoon orange essence
2 teaspoon baking powder
2 1/2cups flour
4 eggs
½ cup milk
For the glaze :
1 cup icing sugar
½ teaspoon orange essence or
Fresh juice of 1 orange
Garnish :
Edible roses
Zest of 1 orange
Slivered almonds
METHOD
Grease 2 loaves tins and keep aside. Sift flour, baking powder And leave aside. Beat together butter and sugar till creamy, add in eggs one at a time. Now add in vanilla essence and orange essence. Add in flour, baking powder and alternate with milk. Beat on low till well combined. Bake in a preheated oven on 180 degrees till a skewer comes out clean. Mix together ingredients for the glaze, add more icing sugar if the glaze is too thin and top loaves. Garnish with slivered almonds, edible roses and orange zest.
