For the loaves : 250g butter 1 ¼ cups castor sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla essence 1 teaspoon Lemon essence 2 teaspoon baking powder 2 1/2cups flour 4 eggs½ cup milk Zest of 1 lemon (to sprinkle over cake)
Glaze :1 cup icing sugar ½ cup fresh lemon juice
Loaf :Sift flour, baking powder And leave aside. Beat together butter and sugar till creamy, add in eggs one at a time. Now add in vanilla essence, lemon essence.Add in flour, baking powder and alternate with milk. Beat on low till well combined. Bake in a preheated oven on 180 degrees till a skewer comes out clean.
Glaze:In a bowl mix together lemon juice and icing sugar till nicely combined. Throw over cake.
