Tuna casseroleRecipe and photo credit @the.glitter.grater Ingredients: 1 large onion sliced finely 2 teaspoon Whole Jeeru (Cumin) 6 tomatoes grated add to this the following spices : Juice of 2 Lemons 2 teaspoon Dhana Jeeru (Cumin) 1 teaspoon red chili powder 1 teaspoon tumeric powder 3 teaspoon garlic paste3 teaspoon red chili paste2 teaspoon fish spice½ teaspoon salt
3 -4 large tins of tuna drained Chopped fresh coriander and spring onions
Mash5-6 medium potatoes boiled soft.2 teaspoon garlic paste ½ white pepper2-4 tablespoons Garlic butter or plain butter 1 teaspoon dried parsleyFew splashes of milk AdditionalWhisk 1 eggs and set aside ½ cup regular bread crumbs
Method for sauce :1.) fry onions in Olive oil or sunflower oil with whole Jeeru (Cumin) until Golden.2.) add in tomatoes and all The spices and cook until thick and all the water has burnt out. 3.) add in the drained tuna and mix gently into the sauce. Close lid and simmer for a few minutes.4.) add in fresh choppedGreens and set aside to cool down . Method for mashPlace all the ingredients in a bowl and mash until smooth. Layering:1.)In a Pyrex place all the tuna sauce at the bottom.2.)Top with mash and spread over the sauce.3.)Using a pastry brush brush the Egg over the mash and sprinkle over the breadcrumbs to cover the casserole.
Bake at 180 degrees until the breadcrumbs turn golden Serve with lemon wedges
