INGREDIENTS
½ cup chana dhal3 nutrific biscuits¼ - ½ cup oats1 onion (sliced)2 tablespoon oil/ghee (Clarified butter)½ teaspoon jeeroo (cumin) seeds1 piece taj (cinnamon stick)2 lavang (cloves)2 elachie pods (cardamom)3 black peppercorns2 large chicken fillets (cubed)1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon dhana jeeroo powder½ teaspoon turmeric powder½ teaspoon rough red chillies½ teaspoon chilli powder1 tablespoon lemon juice1 teaspoon red ginger garlic masala1 tablespoon green dhania (coriander) chutney2 tablespoon chopped mintWater as neededChopped coriander & mintLemon wedges
METHOD
1. Soak dhal overnight.2. Boil with pinch salt, pinch turmeric and oats until dhal is mushy.3. Crush nutrific and add to boiling dhal. Boil till softened.4. Liquidize till smooth.5. Saute onion with oil and all whole spices until golden. 6. Add masala, chutney, mint and powdered spices. Braise till fragrant.7. Add chicken and lemon, and mix in. Braise till chicken turns white.8. Pour in dhal mixture, with 1-2 cups water and simmer till thickened.9. When desired consistency is reached, add chopped dhania (coriander) and mix in.10. Garnish with mint and and serve with naan and lemon wedges.
