INGREDIENTS
1 cup macaroni½ teaspoon rough salt1 tablespoon oil2 packets knorr classic white sauce½ teaspoon white pepperSalt (to taste)½ teaspoon dried mixed herbs1 teaspoon rough red chillies½ cup grated cheddar cheese½ cup finely diced salami½ cup cubed cheddar cheeseOil (for frying)
Coating-2 eggs (beaten)1 small packet Kellogg's crumbs/ dried breadcrumbs Southern ½ cup Hind's Southern Coating spice
METHOD
1. Boil macaroni with rough salt and oil till cooked, drain and keep aside.2. In a pot, add water as instructed for the white sauce, and boil till slightly thick.3. Keep sauce aside and when slightly cool add in macaroni, cheddar cheese, diced salami, spices and mix nicely.4. Transfer mixture onto an oven tray and chill in fridge for about 1-2 hours.5. Remove mixture from fridge, and place some mac 'and cheese in your palm.6. Place a cube of cheese in the center and roll macaroni encasing cheese cube.7. Place back in fridge for about half an hour.8. Preheat oil till 160degC.9. Dip balls into egg and coat in spiced breadcrumbs.10. Fry till golden and crispy. Drain excess oil on kitchen paper and serve with a tomato dip.
