Proof in the Pudding

6 slices bread buttered on both sides, remove crust.2 Tablespoon toasted bread crumbs1 litre milk 4 tablespoons Moirs Custard powder.6 large eggs 2 medium eggs¾ cup of sugar 3 tablespoons butter 2 teaspoon cinnamon powder1 teaspoons of vanilla essence 1 teaspoon cardamom/Elachi (cardomom) powder
Topping/sauce3 Tblspoon boiling water1 teaspoon honey 2 tablespoons of fine apricot jam
In a medium mixing bowl, add butter and sugar cream for 3-5 minutes until sugar dessolved followed by the eggs, vanilla essence whisk all.
In a greased Pyrex glass dish,butter the bread and place facing up.Set aside.
In another bowl add custard powder and make a paste with ¼ cup milk extract from the 1 litre milk.To the custard mixture add the cinnamon breadcrumbs and cardamom powder,balance of the milk stir to get a creamy custard mixture.Add this to the butter, sugar and egg mixture. Pour the creamy custard mixture over the bread evenly soaking the bread in a greased Pyrex dish and bake in pre-heated oven at 175 Cup uncovered for at least 55 - 60 minutes.Do not peek in the first 15 minutes Set timmer on.
Method for sauce. Add apricot sauce to bowl.Thin down the sauce by using honey and boiling water.Pour sauce over pudding immediately taken out of the oven.
