2 medium onions’ paste 1 tablespoon garlic paste300 gms boneless chicken, cut into cubes2 teaspoon black pepper powder1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon garam masala powder½ tablespoon cumin (zeera) powder½ cup yogurt½ cup cream3-4 green chillies, julienneGreen masala ½ cup cooking oilGinger for garnishing
Green masala:1 cup coriander leaves ½ cup mint leaves2-3 green chilliesBlend it together using a little bit of water.
METHOD
- blend raw onions with the help of some water to make a paste- blend together coriander, mint and green chillies to make a paste- in a pan add onion paste and let the water dry up. Do not add oil at this point- when all the water has dried out, add oil and fry the onion paste for 2-3 minutes or until it gets a slight colour- add garlic paste and sauté - add chicken and fry until it changes color keeping the flame medium-high- cover the lid and let it cook until the chicken is cooked (low-medium flame)- now add salt, zeera powder, black pepper powder and sauté for 30 seconds- you won’t need any water because chicken releases plenty - add green paste and bhoonofy - reduce the flame to medium-low and let the water dry out- add yogurt and cream, sauté and cook for a minute - sprinkle garam masala and mix- add 2-3 green chillies
Serve with nan or parathay.
