INGREDIENTS
12 fresh figsMascarpone cheese(Ricotta cheese too if available)Pinch saltGround black pepperPinch dried thyme/ or vanilla essenceRocket leavesHoneyMacon/ or dates/ or walnuts/ or nougat
METHOD
1. Cut figs into quarters from it's tip but not all the way through, opening like a flower.2. In a bowl, mix a few spoonfuls of mascarpone with spices. If you have ricotta, then mix a little of that into mascarpone mix too.3. Place rocket leaf into fig.4. Then spoon in some seasoned mascarpone.5. Drizzle on some honey.6. Fry the macon till crispy.7. Place inside fig with a sprinkling of pepper. Serve immediately.8. Alternatively, you may leave out the macon. Add vanilla essence in place of thyme and place a soft date ontop, or a piece of nut & cranberry nougat or even chopped walnuts.
INFO & TIPS
Note: You could even bake the figs and cheese in oven, but use firm figs. May use labneh and pomegranate for a classic flavor combination.
