Steak & Potato Pie
Ingredients:
500gr rump steak, finely
cubed
1 teaspoon ghee (Clarified butter)
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon fresh red chillies
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon steak & chops spice
½ teaspoon lemon pepper
3 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon mustard sauce
1 tablespoon chilli sauce
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
2 tomatoes, liquidized
2 med potatoes cut into
small cubes
Puff pastry
2 egg yolks
Tip: Alternatively one can
add cheese and red chutney
for a cheesy flavour.
Method:
Cook on high heat for 5
minutes, reduce heat and
cook on low until tender.
Boil potatoes until cooked.
Combine steak and potatoes.
Grease a rectangular oven
proof dish. Roll out pastry to
fit the base and sides of dish.
Spoon cooked steak and
potato mixture over pastry.
Roll out more pastry and cut
a rectangle to fit the top of
the pie. Place pastry over
filling and press sides down
with your thumb. Brush with
egg yolks. Take a sharp knife
and cut squares deep into
the pastry. Sprinkle sesame
seeds and bake in a pre
heated oven of 180 degree
until golden brown.
