INGREDIENTS
Wash and marinate 1kg spring lamb chops with: 1 teaspoon salt (to taste)3 teaspoon green masalaPinch of arad (Turmeric)1 teaspoon vinegar1 teaspoon @aminaswonderspiceuk steak and chops spice (optional ingredient for extra flavour)Steam in a bit of oil & water until chops are cooked through - then leave to cool
For the Batter:1 teaspoon red chilli powder1 teaspoon ginger&garlic1 teaspoon fine dhania (coriander) powder½ teaspoon crushed jeeru (cumin) powder¼ cup Chopped coriander + springonions¼ cup finely chopped onion (squeeze water out)½ small tomato (grated)1 teaspoon salt (to taste)1 teaspoon baking powder1 egg1 cup chana flourMix all of the above together- add a little cold water to form a paste like texture.
Other ingredients:Oil for frying
METHOD
1.) Once the chops have cooled down, dip them into the batter and fry in medium hot oil until golden brown.2.) If you have leftover batter, cut potatoes into thin slices, dip in batter and fry.3.) Serve hot...Enjoy!
INFO & TIPS
I don’t like using a pressure cooker or instant pot so I batch cook a kg or 2 of lamb while it’s still fresh when I buy it.
I then pack it in Tupperwares and freeze for when I need it to make chops pakora or cook something quickly (eg, haleem or akhni)
