Bismillah.
INGREDIENTS
5 cups of flour1 teaspoon baking powder pinch of salt. 3 tablespoon aniseed2 and Β½ tablespoon cinnamon powder 1 tablespoon ginger powder1 tablespoon Elachi (cardomom) powder 10g yeast.300ml water200ml milk 3 tablespoon melted butter ΒΌ cup sugar 1 egg
(Syrup )3 cups of water 3 cups of sugar1 cinnamon stick 2 Elachi (cardomom) pods piece of naartjie skin (optional)

METHOD
1. Sift 5 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder and a pinch of salt.
2. Then add in 3 tablespoon aniseed, 2 and Β½ tablespoon cinnamon powder, 1 tablespoon ginger powder, 1 tablespoon Elachi (cardomom) ( cardamom ) powder and 10g yeast.
3. Separately in a jug put 300ml water, 200ml milk, 3 tablespoon melted butter, ΒΌ cup sugar and 1 egg and whisk well.
4. Add liquid into dry mixture and mix well to form a dough. Cover and leave in a sunny place till double in size.
5. Punch down and make into shapes. You should get about 30- 40. Leave to stand another half an hour. Then fry in medium oil until golden.
6. Make syrup with 3 cups of water, 3 cups of sugar, 1 cinnamon stick and 2 Elachi (cardomom) pods and a piece of naartjie skin. Boil till sticky consistency about 8-10 minutes.
7. Dip Koeksisters in syrup for 30 seconds. Roll in dessicated coconut and ENJOY hot π
