A twist on the famous South African Milk Tart.
1 Roll today's pastry Cut in squares & place in muffin pans. I put thin slices of butter on the sides of the pastry. Bake @ 200 until golden brown. While baking press down the middle of the pastry to create a dent. Filling 1 ½ cups milk heat up In a bowl mix together 1 egg1 heaped tablespoon flour1 heaped tablespoon maizena (corn flour) 2 tablespoon sugar or more according taste. Whisk until smooth Add to milk & boil keep stirring. until thick. Remove from stove & add some butter. Mix well if a bit to thick add little milk to thin. Fill pastry tarts with milk filling & dust with cinnamon. This was absolutely magical.
