Roughly chop the cleaned prawns and set aside.
In a pestle and mortar, crush the green chillies, fresh ginger and garlic as well as the Jeeru (Cumin) and soomph seeds, until you have a rough paste.
In another bowl, combine the Channa flour and baking powder. Add enough water to make a smooth batter.
Next, add in the chopped prawns, chopped potato and rice, followed by the paste made in the pestle and mortar, and all spices. Lastly, add in the chopped dhania (coriander).
Adjust seasonings according to your preferences.Fry by dropping spoonfuls of the batter in oil, until golden.
Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot, with a squeeze of lemon juice and chilli sauce.
Enjoy!
INFO & TIPS
I de-seed the chillies to provide mild heat. (Optional)
You can skip the step of grinding the whole spices in the pestle and mortar, and replace it with ready made green masala, chilli paste, and ginger and garlic paste.
Slice the potatoes thinly to ensure even cooking.
