INGREDIENTS
1 box of Hake fillets or medallions 250ml Fresh Cream Lemon juice (user discretion) 60g Butter2 Tablespoons crushed garlic 1 Tablespoon of ground black pepper Salt (user discretion) 1 Tablespoon lemon and herb fish spice 1 teaspoon Mixed Herbs (optional) Handful of chopped Coriander (optional)1 teaspoon Crushed green chillies (optional)
METHOD
Season your hake with fish spice and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Add butter to a heated pan and place the hake in. Sear on each side for +- 2 minutes or until golden (frozen fillets might take longer). Add garlic and sauté with fish for about a minute. Add in your fresh cream, salt, pepper, green chillies, mixed herbs (optional) and lemon juice. Cover with a lid and cook on low till the fish is done and sauce is slightly thickened. Once done, garnish with coriander and enjoy with crispy potato wedges, spice rice or garlic bread.
INFO & TIPS
For a healthier option you can bake your fish in the oven. Just place your seasoned fish is an oven-proof casserole and bake on 180° for about for about 20 minutes or until ready.
Cook your sauce on the stove and pour over the fish halfway through baking. Once the sauce is added, cover again and continue baking till fish is cooked and sauce is thicker slightly.
P. S Please ensure you cover your fish with foil (before and after adding the sauce) otherwise it will dry up.
