INGREDIENTS
1 medium can of tinfish cleaned5 medium potatoes cleaned and cubed1 onion sliced2 medium tomatoes grated1 stock cube (chicken/beef)2 Tablespoon Masala½ teaspoon turmeric½ teaspoon dried thyme½ teaspoon crushed black pepper Salt to taste1 teaspoon ginger and garlic paste
METHOD
Add oil to pan and add in onionsWhen onions is slightly brown add in tomatoesCook for 2 minutes then add in ginger and garlic paste and rest of spicesCook for one minute then add in the potatoes and one cup of water and stock cubeAdd in salt to taste and let this cook till potatoes are half way doneCan add in half a cup of water at a time if potatoes take longer
We want a thick gravy
When potatoes are half way done, add in the tinfishTaste for salt
Smash some potatoes for thick gravyTurn off stove and let this cool
Can transfer to another bowl to cool down.
_Method for Pie Dough_
To a bowlAdd in 500g of flourAdd in a pinch of saltAdd in 2 Tablespoon of oil
Add hot water to form a dough, must be just a little stiff than a normal roti dough, but if it's soft like a roti dough that is fine
Roll out like rotis, don't make too thinAdd in filling on one half, add water with your fingers around the edges, close with the other half and press down with a fork or fold it in till you come to the end
Deep fry them till golden brown and enjoy
You would think they soak up oil when frying but the don't
