INGREDIENTS
base
125g butter softened overnight
80ml castor sugar
1 egg
300ml flour
100ml maziena
1 teaspoon baking powder
filling
750ml milk
150ml castor sugar
45ml flour
60ml maziena
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
topping
fresh strawberries
apricot jam
red colouring
METHOD
base
cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
add egg beat until creamy
add sifted dry ingredients
place a thin layer of dough againt desired ovenpan
and bake at 180 for 10-15 minutes
let cool
filling
heat 500ml milk in saucepan
make paste with remaining milk and ingredients
add to heating milk
whisk milk until thick
let cool
once cooled throw over base
topping
cut strawberries in half leave on towel paper for
15min to allow all juices to dry
put on tart.
heat apricot jam in saucepan with drops of red
colouring until thin and runny.
pour a thin layer over tart
refrigerate for 2 hours and serve
