250 g soft butter 1 ½ cup treacle sugar/sticky brown sugar 6 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla essence 2 teaspoon baking powder Pinch salt 1 ½ cup flour 2 cup chopped dates 2 cup chopped pecan nuts 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Pre heat oven to 180°c Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla essence. Add in dry ingredients, dates and nuts. Beat well. Spoon batter into 2 greased square pans. bake for 25-30 minutes. sprinkle grated chocolate and coconut (optional) over cake while hot.
