INGREDIENTS
3 cup flour sifted1 cup icing sugar(less or more depending on how sweet you want it) 6 teaspoon baking powder if you're not using self raising flour125g-150g margarine or butter 1 cup of sourmilk 1 egg
METHOD
Firstly preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius and oil tray or spray and cook
1. Sift flour with baking powder and add sugar
2.Rub butter into flour mixture to resemble breadcrumbs (try not to have lumps)
3.Combine sourmilk and egg, whisk
4.Add to flour mix and gently combine, do NOT overdo or overknead. Dough should be soft but not sticky. Gently mix dough until it doesn't stick to your hand.Adding sprinkling of flour IF needed to stop it from sticking.
5.On a lightly flour surface pat out dough and with a rolling pin lightly roll out to 2cm thickness.
6.Cut with a 6cm cutter
7.Place on tray and brush with egg and milk mix
8.Bake for 10-20 minutes until light brown (Please note cooking times may vary according to oven)
