
Buttermilk Rusk

250g butter- soft
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups flour
5 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk/freshcream or maas
1 cup sugar
METHOD
Rub butter in dry ingredients(except sugar) to resemble breadcrumbs.
Beat egg buttermilk and sugar together.
Mix liquid in dry ingredients to make a sticky,wet dough.....pat in a greased oven tray.level with a spatula dipped in milk to smoothn top.
Bake on 180 for 30-till ris3n and pinkinsh......
Remove from oven,slice and place flat on a baking sheet and bake on 100 till crisp.....
Turn rusk 2 ensure crispness
