INGREDIENTS
250g punnet button mushrooms½ cup cake flour1-2 eggs (lightly beaten)¾ cup breadcrumbs or cornflake crumbs1 teaspoon BBQ spice½ teaspoon salt½ teaspoon chilli powder½ teaspoon lemon pepper½ teaspoon dried mixed herbs
#Variation: Add- ½ teaspoon Aromat (a South African Spice) spice, and substitute 1 teaspoon chicken spice in place of bbq spice.
METHOD
1. Mix spices and crumbs in a bowl.2. Wipe mushrooms clean with a wet cloth, unless very sandy, then rinse.3. Coat in flour, then beaten egg.4. Then roll in spiced crumbs.5. Deep fry in medium hot oil until golden and crispy.
