INGREDIENTS
1litre milk
1 teaspoon china grass (ghaas)dilute in
little cold water
1 tablespoon custard powder (dilute in little
cold milk)
250ml fresh cream
11/2 tins condensed milk
little Elachi (cardomom) powder
pecan nuts/almonds/pistas
flake (chocolate ice cream)
food colouring (optional)
METHOD
Bring milk to boil.
Add china grass & custard powder.
Give one boil.
Remove from stove & allow to cool.
Add fresh cream, condensed milk,Elachi (cardomom)
powder & nuts of your choice eg.
add pistas & green food colouring for
pista (pistachio nuts) ice cream.
Toast almonds & leave ice cream white
for toasted almond ice cream.
Toast pecan nuts ,add cocoa, add chunks
of flake chocolate just before ice
cream is done for chocolate ice cream.
Add chopped pieces of rose flavoured
turkish delight & a little rose essence
for turkish delight ice cream.
Add liquorice sweets (Woolworths)to hot
milk when taken off stove , sweets will
melt in hot milk , you will have a
liquorice flavoured ice cream.
NB: You can experiment with flavouring
according to your likes & taste.
Place ice cream mixture in ice cream and
process until formed.For best & quick
results keep your ice cream mixture
very cold before adding into ice cream
machine.
Ice cream can be poured into silicone
cup cake cases for individual ice
creams.
Ice cream can also be poured into a
loaf pan , remember to add cling wrap
to loaf pan before pouring ice cream.
Freeze ice cream.
Remove from freezer a few minutes
before serving.
