Approximately 1kg crab (pieces)
4 medium sized tomatoes (grated)
2 medium sized onions (sliced)
4 chillies (sliced)
2 tblspns ground ginger and garlic
1 stem curry leaf
3 1⁄2 tblspns mixed masala (includes dhania (coriander) powder, turmeric, jeera powder, garam masala, Elachi (cardomom) powder)
1 tblspn tamarind diluted in a cup of water
Salt for taste
Braise onions, curry leaf and cinnamon sticks. When slightly browned, add crab and then garlic and ginger. Add salt. Cook on low heat.
Braise until crab changes to a reddish colour. Add grated tomatoes and green chilli.
Add tamarind water. If extra gravy is required, add another cup of water. Lower heat and let simmer until gravy thickens. Remove & garnish with dhania (coriander). Taste is mouth watering ...
