RECIPE
4 cups cake flour4 teaspoon baking powder¼ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda½ - 1 teaspoon nutmeg powder1 cup castor sugar125g stork to bake/ butter2 eggs (beaten)1 cup sour milk
METHOD:1. Mix all dry ingredients.2. Rub softened margarine into flour and form "crumbs".3. Mix the eggs into the sourmilk.4. Add this to the crumbed mixture, as needed, binding and forming a soft dough.5. Heat a deep fryer or wok with oil on stove on medium heat.6. Roll out dough 3cm thick on a lightly floured surface.7. Cut out dough with doughnut cutter.8. When the oil is ready, deep fry doughnuts on medium heat till golden brown on either side and cooked through.9. Drain doughnuts in colander with kitchen paper.10. Dip the tops in cinnamon sugar whilst warm. #mamataughtmewellrecipes

Note: May also dip in melted chocolate and decorate with sprinkles or dip in simple syrup and sprinkle on desiccated coconut.
