INGREDIENTS
½ kilo mince
2 onions chopped up
2 peppers cut into 4
1 potato cut into big cubes
oil
All the whole spices ( 4 of each )
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon garlic
1 teaspoon red chili paste
1 teaspoon jeera powder
2 teaspoon dhana powder
¼ teaspoon haldi
crushed red chili ( to how strong you eat)
4 tomatoes pureed
1 tablespoon tomato paste
¼ freshly squeezed lemon
¼ cup sourmilk
dhania (coriander) for garnish
METHOD
In a pot add the oil the whole spices , wait til the oil is heated , now add the onions and saute for about 3 minutes and add the peppers , cook til the onions starts to change color add the ginger , garlic and red chili paste , braise til you get the aroma . now add the washed mince , using you spoon separate you minces so it doesnt turn into a big blob . add the dry spices and potatoes cook on low for 5 minutes and add the tomatoes allow it to cook on low until the water almost burned out , now add the lemon juice , tomato paste and sourmilk and allow to cook on low until done , if you need the potatoes to soften add some water and allow for the minces to cook little longer
garnish with dhania (coriander) , serve with roti/ vetkoek and lemon
