½ cup chopped almonds 3 apples, cored peeled and halved 2 teaspoons lemon juice 2 tablespoons brown sugar ¾ teaspoon cinnamon ¼ teaspoon nutmeg 1 tablespoon honey 1 tablespoon brown sugar ¼ teaspoon cinnamon1 tablespoon butter cut in pieces 1 egg1 Roll puff pastry, defrosted
Method:1. Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees 2. Chop up the sides and edges of the apples. Slice the larger insides. 3. Toss the almonds, apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg together in a bowl and leave for about 20 minutes. 4. Roll the pastry out a little thinner and place on a baking paper-lined baking sheet. Score around the edges to make a border, ensuring you don't cut through the pastry.5. Spread the chopped apples over the pastry. Drizzle the honey over the chopped apples. 6. Decoratively arrange the apple slices on top. 7. Mix the remainder cinnamon and sugar. Drizzle over the apples. Dot with butter and bake for 15-20 minutes until the pastry is crisp and golden and apples are soft. 8. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
Serve hot or at room temperature (with a scoop of ice cream for extra indulgence 😉)
