INGREDIENTS
Meatballs-500g lean beef/mutton mince1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon chilli powder1 teaspoon ground green chillies1 teaspoon ground garlic1 teaspoon dhana jeeroo powderPinch turmeric powder½ teaspoon black pepper,Fist fresh dhania (coriander) (chopped)Fist fresh chives (chopped).
Sauce:5 large tomatoes (liquidized)1 onion (sliced)2 pieces taj (Cinnamon stick)1 teaspoon chilli powderPinch turmeric powder 1 teaspoon dhana jeeroo powder½ teaspoon salt2 tablespoon tomato sauce.
Also needed-Hotdog rolls3 large potatoesGrated gouda cheese
METHOD
1. Wash and drain mince till dry. Bind with ingredients listed and form golf ball sized meatballs.2. In a deep pot, pour in some oil and heat on medium heat. When hot, add meatballs, and fry, sealing and browning all around.3. Remove meatballs, and add onions, curry and cinnamon, frying until golden.4. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and spices and allow tomato water to burn out.5. Add meatballs to pot and allow to cook through in tomato, reducing to a thick chutney.6. Peel and cut potatoes into thick chips. Deep fry till done and season with salt.7. Cut down the middle of the top of the hotdog roll.8. Line with a few chips, then spoon on meatballs and sauce.9. Sprinkle on cheese and place in hot oven to melt cheese and lightly crisp up roll.10. Serve immediately.
