Made differently With less spices
1 cup washed and soaked Chana dhal overnight Rince and throw the water awayPut on stove with water pinch of bicarb and boil not too softDrain keep asideIn potAdd 3 tablespoon ghee (Clarified butter) or oilAdd 1 medium grated or sliced onion2 tuj (cinnamon stick) 2 Elachi (cardomom) pods½ teaspoon whole Jeeru (Cumin) ( ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds is optional)1 sliced whole green or red chilliSauteAdd 1-2 chicken fillets cut upBraise now add1 teaspoon ginger paste½ teaspoon garlic or sliced garlicCurry leaves optionalBraiseAdd +- 1 teaspoon Kashmiri chilli powder½ teaspoon tumeric½ teaspoon dhana jeera powder½ teaspoon garam masalaBraise 3 minutes Add 1 large tomato gratedCook till chicken is almost doneNow add the Chana dhal Cook.add a bit of water if the dhal is not softLet it be moist with slight gravyAdjust the salt and chilliGarnish with chopped green dhania (coriander)Enjoy with rotis
