Arabic DoughRecipe Credit Unknown2 cups lukewarm water (not boiling )4 tablespoon granulated sugar1 sachet instant yeast (10g)2 cups flour¼ teaspoon salt2 tablespoon milk powder (Klim)Mix together with a whisk and set aside covered for 10-15 minutes. The mixture will rise and look spongy. Then add:½ cup oil2 cups flour plus another 1 cup to add in slowly!!!1 teaspoon baking powderMix the ingredients together with the spongy mix and knead well. About 5-10 minutes by hand. Add more flour (approx a cup or so more will be needed-add little at a time) until you have a soft and lovely, easy to handle dough. Knead a little.Place the dough into a lightly oiled dish and leave to rise for approximately 30 minutes.
My daughter asked to me to add these instructions for anyone that has never made a yeast dough before.Cover the dish with plastic wrap.The plastic wrap makes it rise faster and stops the top of the dough from drying out.After the dough has doubled in size.Knock it down again and than roll it out. Method for Cinnamon Twist Make four round balls and roll each one out into a oblong.Spread butter and sprinkle cinnamon sugar over each one.Place one on top of the other to get four layersCut strips,plus minus 1 1/2cm in width.Press the one end to seal,and twist to form a ring shape and pinch the end close.Place on a baking tray and brush with egg.Leave to rise for 15 minutes and than bake in preheated oven at 180 degress.Untill nice and brown on top.Leave to cool and enjoy with a nice cup of tea,coffee whatever your ♥️desires.
