INGREDIENTS
Buns:¾ cup lukewarm water2 tblspns butter, at room temperature1 large egg3 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour¼ cup normal white sugar1 ¼ tspns fine salt1 tablespoon instant yeast
Topping:1 egg with ¼ cup watersesame seeds
METHOD
Add the water and yeast into a bowl. Mix and leave for about 5 minutes.
Mix and knead all of the dough ingredients to make a soft, smooth dough. (including the water and yeast)
Cover the dough, and let it rise for 1 to 2 hours, or until it's nearly doubled in bulk.
Gently deflate the dough, and divide it into 8 pieces. Shape each piece into a round ball; flatten to about 3" across. Place the buns on a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let it rise for about an hour, until noticeably puffy.
Brush the buns with the beaten egg and water, sprinkle the sesame seeds onto the tops and bake the buns in a preheated 180°C oven for 15 to 18 minutes, until golden.Remove them from the oven.Cool the buns on a rack and enjoy your delicious burger bun !!!
