20 to 30 brown or black Kajoor (Dates) ½ cup pecans/ almonds 50g butter 4 tablespoon milk ¼ cup desiccated coconut
6 sheets phyllo pastry - cut into half Melted Butter for spreading
Sugar syrup 1 cup sugar ¾ cups water 1 teaspoon lemon zest Squeeze of lemon
Bring to boil thicken slightlyCool the syrup
METHOD
In pot add the dates along with the butter and milk and soften the dates Add the nuts and coconut Remove from heat
Spread butter on phyllo Place filling and roll into a cigar Continue until you are done . Bake until goldenPour syrup and sprinkle nuts of your choice
INFO & TIPS
You can add a pinch of elachi in the mixture
You can also use butter pasty instead of phyllo
