INGREDIENTS
For the steak:-steak of your choice-red masala-aminas wonderspice Portuguese marinade π¬π§ OR khans if I am in πΏπ¦-butter (to cook steak in)
For the tomato chutney:-1 tin KOO tomato and onion mixπΏπ¦ (or chopped braised onions and a tin of chopped tomatoesπ¬π§)-salt and chilli powder to taste-ΒΌ teaspoon red masala-1 teaspoon butter
For serving:-fried chips-steamed mixed veg-boiled rice-bartered onion rings-a fried egg(optional)
METHOD
*Steak:1.)Marinate steak with red masala and Portuguese spice for a few hours or overnight.2.)Melt butter in a non-stick pan - medium heat, add the steak and cook until well done (add a little hot water if necessary but dry it out).3.)Remove from the pan and transfer to an ovenproof dish to grill before serving.
*Tomato chutney:1.)Melt butter,add red masala and cook for a bit,liquidize the tomato onion mix and add it to the pot,add salt and chilli to taste and cook till butter comes to the top (I sometimes add a little bit of brown sugar for a sweet spicy flavour).
π³ Serve with chips,steamed veg and boiled rice,a fried egg can be served ontop of the steak and tomato chutney if desired π³

left over tomato chutney can be used to make Shakeshuka for breakfast/brunch
