For the Steak:1 kg fillet steak1 teaspoon salt½ teaspoon lemon pepper½ teaspoon black pepper2 teaspoon green chill1 teaspoon ginger garlic 1 -2 teaspoon vinegar 1 teaspoon peri peri sauceMarinate steak fry in butter or grill For the Mushroom sauce:1 punnet mushrooms (cleaned and sliced can add more)1 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon garlic1 teaspoon salt1 tbplsn butter¼ cup milk1 packet mushroom sauce or 1 packet mushroom cuppa soup 1 tablespoon cornflour Dried parsleyFresh cream Other ingredients:Cheddar cheese slices or grated cheddar cheese
1.) Marinate and fry/ grill/ braai (bbq)steak According to your preference.2.) In another pot, melt the butter for the sauce, add the mushrooms, salt, pepper, garlic and cook until mushrooms are soft.3.) Make the sauce/soup according to packet instructions, add it to the mushrooms and bring it to a boil.4.) Mix cornflour and with the milk and add it to the sauce (keep stirring so the sauce doesn’t get lumpy), cook until it comes to a boil and thickens (add more cornflour if you want a thicker sauce) - Remove the pot from the stove, add the cream and dried parsley.5.) Place the hot steak on your serving board, add the cheese so it melts over the steak, add a bit of melted butter (optional) then top with the mushroom sauce.6.) Serve as desired.7.) I served mine with boiled rice and spicy chips.
