INGREDIENTS
150g plain flour½ teaspoon salt¼ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda½ teaspoon baking powder110g/4oz soft unsalted butter85g/3oz soft light brown sugar1 teaspoon vanilla essence 1 egg170g chocolate chipsIce cream to Serve
Optional Serving Ingredients:Fruit Melted Chocolate or saucesWhipped cream
METHOD
1.) Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.2.) Measure the flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda and baking powder into a bowl - mix and keep aside.3.) With an electric mixer (or by hand) beat the butter and sugar until It’s light light and creamy then add the vanilla essence and the egg and beat again.4.) Fold in the flour mixture, then, once it’s all mixed in, fold in the chocolate chips.Divide the dough between 6 medium greased foil trays or transfer all the dough Into one large greased baking tray. 5.) Bake in for 13–15 minutes (large tray) or 7-9 minutes (medium foil trays).6.) They will still be quite gooey inside, but the top will be set, and they should be golden brown at the edges and just beginning to come away from the sides of the trays.7.) Remove it from the oven and leave it aside for 2-3 minutes then spoon a scoop of ice cream on top of each one or serve with cream on the side.8.) Drizzle with melted chocolate, sauces, or serve with fruit and whipped cream on the side (optional)
INFO & TIPS
You can use salted butter instead of unsalted butter and salt as stated in the recipe
