INGREDIENTS
500g Steak (Slices as preferred) 1 teaspoon Red Ginger Garlic paste ¼ teaspoon Turmeric Powder 1-2 teaspoon Chillie Powder 1 teaspoon Coriander/Cumin Powder½ teaspoon Salt or to taste 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce½teaspoon Lemon Pepper spice 1 teaspoon dried Mixed Herbs 2 Tablespoon Lemon Juice 4-6 Tablespoon Tomato Sauce 2 Tablespoon Olive Oil + 1-2 Tablespoon ghee (Clarified butter)/Butter
METHOD
~ clean, wash and drain Steak, ~ marinate with all ingredients, except the oil and ghee (Clarified butter)~ heat pan/pot on medium heat, add the oil and ghee (Clarified butter)/butter.~ when hot, add in the marinated steak and any excess marinade ~ Follow by adding 1⁄3 cup water ~ allow to cook on low heat, for ± 20-30 minutes ,turning a few times, until steak is tender. You may add more water gradually if you need steak to cook further. ~ When almost done, allow steak to fry a little or until ghee (Clarified butter) (Clarified butter) and sauce is only coating the steak. ~ serve with choice of starch and salad .Notes by Foodeva Marsay ~ normal ginger and garlic paste may be used if the Red variety is not available. ~ Also adjust chillie powder amounts to your liking. ~ And add more sauce if you want a more saucier end result. Or add a mix of sauces to the tomato sauce, like peri peri or tomato relish. ~ You can also use this recipe as a braai (bbq) marinade for steak. As well as for Lamb Chops/Ribs, to which I add some Honey. .KINDLY SHARE MY RECIPES AS POSTED HERE, www.marriamsayed.com
