INGREDIENTS
For the cake :1 cup of flour1cup of milk 1 tablespoon vinegar 1 tablespoon apricot jam 1 cup of sugar 1 egg1 teaspoon bicarb 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 tablespoon butter Pinch of salt
The sauce :Half a cup of sugar 100grams of butter A tin of evaporated milk (if not available use normal full cream milk works fine)
METHOD
The cake :1. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees celcius 2.Mix all the dry ingredients3. Add the wet ingredients and mix well forming a smooth batter 4. Grease the cake pan and add the batter, can also make individual ones in pie trays or cup cake holders. 5. Allow to bake for 15 - 20 minutes depending on your oven, stick test to see if it's still sticky or not
The sauce :1. Melt butter in a sauce pan 2. Add the milk to this stirring continuously to avoid scorching.3. Add the sugar and allow to melt stirring continuously 4. As soon as there is a boil take it of the heat and pour over the cake whilst it us still hot avoid crystalising. 5. Serve hot or cold with custard, cream or ice cream or serve as is 🌸
